Montecarlo è un piccolo borgo situato sulle colline vicino Lucca. Grazie alla passione ed alla competenza dei vignaioli del secolo scorso è stata una delle prime zone d’Italia a produrre vini pregiati in particolar modo "I BIANCHI".
Verso la fine dell’800 nella zona furono introdotti i vitigni francesi Pinot bianco e grigio, Sauvignon, Semillon e Roussanne per i bianchi e Cabernet, Merlot e Syrah per i rossi.
I vitigni base erano il Trebbiano toscano ed il Sangiovese.
Negli anni trenta sia per la composizione varietale che per le tecniche di vinificazione era considerato il miglior bianco italiano. E’ stato il vino servito alle nozze dell’ultimo Re d’Italia. A quel tempo veniva chiamato "Lo Chablis" di Montecarlo.
La Fattoria del Buonamico è situata a sud-ovest di Montecarlo, nell’area di Cercatoia, e copre un’area di 37 ettari, 24 dei quali con vini specializzati. L’azienda è stata fondata agli inizi degli anni ’60 da famosi ristoranti torinesi allo scopo di fornire i loro locali con i vini di Montecarlo. Successivamente la Fattoria è stata ampliata, sia come terreni, che come cantina, in modo da poter soddisfare le maggiori richieste di una clientela sempre più desiderosa di vini di qualità. Oggi, pur lasciando inalterate le caratteristiche essenziali per una viticoltura di sapore antico, il "BUONAMICO" si è posizionato sul mercato come azienda leader di Montecarlo per la produzione di vini pregiati.

Montecarlo is a small town situated on a hill near Lucca. Thanks to the passion and competence of the wine-dressers during last century, it has become one of the first areas in Italy to produce precious wines, and in particular "I BIANCHI" ( "THE WHITE").
In the area, at the end of 1800, French wines were introduced – such as Pinot bianco and grigio, Sauvignon, Semillon and Roussanne for the white ones, and Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah for the red ones.
The basic wines were the Tuscan Trebbiano and the Sangiovese.During the 30s it was considered the best white Italian wine – thanks to the variety of the composition, and the vinification – technics. This wine was served at the wedding of the last Italian king. At that time it was called "Lo Chablis" of Montecarlo.
The Fattoria del Buonamico is situated south-west of Montecarlo in the area of Cercatoia, it covers an area of 37 hectares, of which 24 hectares have specialized wines. Our farm was founded at the beginning of the sixties by famous turinese restorers to supply their restaurant with wines from Montecarlo. Later the farm was enlarged both as regards the lands and the cellar, in order to satisfy the always greater demand from customers who need more and more vintage wines. Today the "BUONAMICO" has reached a leader position on the market of Montecarlo for the production of vintage wines, even if it hasn’t changed the features, essential for a wine-growing, which preserved the good ancient natural taste.
